Although it may increase the number of ads from three to four if the search query is \u201chighly commercial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2016\/02\/london-hotel-Google-Search-with-right-hand-side-ads.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-57222\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57222\" src=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2016\/02\/london-hotel-Google-Search-with-right-hand-side-ads.png\" alt=\"london hotel Google Search with right hand side ads\" width=\"800\" height=\"456\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Here today, but not tomorrow.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This roll-out will effect <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/2018\/12\/21\/guide-google-analytics-confusing-terms\/\">users<\/a> worldwide in all languages and will bring the desktop experience closer to the mobile experience, although whether the amount of ads shown to mobile users will increase hasn&#8217;t been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So what does this mean for marketers and users alike?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well for regular users, the right-hand space will still be utilised for Product Listing Ads (PLAs) as well as Knowledge Graph Boxes, so you probably won&#8217;t notice much of a difference there. However the continual &#8216;pushing down&#8217; of organic listings will certainly be an issue for many of us.<\/p>\n<p>For businesses this will mean the organic space is even more precious will therefore lead to an\u00a0even bigger focus on SEO<\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/sew\/how-to\/2436089\/beginner-s-guide-to-paid-search-and-ppc\">Paid Search<\/a> advertisers the change will certainly\u00a0drive up average CPCs as the competition for the top slots increases.
