{"id":31807,"date":"2014-09-16T17:30:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-16T17:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.searchenginewatch.com\/2014\/09\/16\/top-paid-search-keywords-for-health-insurance-revealed-study\/"},"modified":"2019-08-09T06:17:40","modified_gmt":"2019-08-09T06:17:40","slug":"top-paid-search-keywords-for-health-insurance-revealed-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/2014\/09\/16\/top-paid-search-keywords-for-health-insurance-revealed-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Paid Search Keywords for Health Insurance Revealed [Study]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">AdGooroo released findings of <a href=\"http:\/\/succeed.adgooroo.com\/health_insurance_paid_search.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a study<\/a> that looked at the <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/2019\/06\/13\/small-digital-marketing-budget-tips\/\">paid search<\/a> landscape for the health insurance sector, specifically the Top 5 U.S. advertisers of health insurance for the first half of 2014 in Google AdWords.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The report analyzed who spent the most on AdWords campaigns, which health insurance <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/2018\/08\/07\/seo-101-11-tips-you-need-to-know-when-you-optimize-your-site\/\">keywords<\/a> were the most competitive and more. The five advertisers examined included:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>IndividualHealthQuotes.com<\/li>\n<li>Humana.com<\/li>\n<li>GoLong.com<\/li>\n<li>eHealthInsurance.com<\/li>\n<li>HealthPlans.com<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The following chart outlines the AdWords investment of the top advertisers for January 2014 to June 2014, with IndividualHealthQuotes.com leading with more than $4.4 million in spend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" style=\"display: block;\" title=\"adgooro-top-health-insurance-advertisers\" src=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/cnt-import\/sew\/IMG\/131\/300131\/adgooro-top-health-insurance-advertisers.jpg\" alt=\"adgooro-top-health-insurance-advertisers\" width=\"620\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Looking at a comparison chart, we can see the performance snapshot of those five competitors as it relates to spend, click-through rate (CTR), cost per click (CPC) and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" style=\"display: block;\" title=\"health-insurance-advertisers-comparison-chart\" src=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/cnt-import\/sew\/IMG\/130\/300130\/health-insurance-advertisers-comparison-chart.jpg\" alt=\"health-insurance-advertisers-comparison-chart\" width=\"620\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">HealthPlans.com had the highest coverage, with ads showing about 30 percent of the time, but eHealthInsurance.com had the highest CTR and lowest CPC at nearly 6 percent and at $2.91, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Which <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/optimize-instagram-account-search-engines\">keywords<\/a> did health insurance advertisers spend the most on in the first six months of 2014?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The following image shows the Top 20 <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/2019\/07\/15\/keyword-research-tools-free\/\">keywords<\/a> and their respective spend, with \u201chealth insurance\u201d ($8.2 million in spend), \u201cmedicare\u201d ($5.5 million in spend) and \u201cblue cross blue shield\u201d ($4.4 million in spend) as the top three:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" style=\"display: block;\" title=\"health-insurance-ad-keywords\" src=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/cnt-import\/sew\/IMG\/129\/300129\/health-insurance-ad-keywords.jpg\" alt=\"health-insurance-ad-keywords\" width=\"620\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Spending more to secure visibility for popular health insurance terms is widespread. In February, <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/article\/2330135\/Auto-Health-Life-Most-Competitive-in-Insurance-Search-Marketing-Study\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kenshoo released findings<\/a> of a report that showed health insurance was among the top subsectors in the insurance category that advertisers spent money on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"center\" style=\"display: block;\" title=\"paid-search-insurance-kenshoo\" src=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/cnt-import\/sew\/IMG\/997\/282997\/paid-search-insurance-kenshoo.jpg\" alt=\"paid-search-insurance-kenshoo\" width=\"620\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">And with good cause. A <a href=\"https:\/\/searchenginewatch.com\/article\/2358537\/30-of-Traffic-to-Insurance-Sites-Came-from-Search-in-June\">Milward Brown Digital study<\/a> showed the potential of search traffic to insurance brands.
